The Benefits of Being a Student Ambassador
There are many ways to get yourself noticed as a student.
You may decide to apply for a Prefect position in your school, or to join one of your school’s societies. Other students decide that volunteering is the way to give back to the community, while also standing out to employers.
There are many ways to get ahead of your competition… and another one of these is by becoming a ‘Student Ambassador’.
As a Student Ambassador, you become ‘the face’ of your school, when interacting with a particular organization. For example, if your school is registered with a learning hub, or a jobs platform, you will be the go-to person for any information related to this resource.

What is a Student Ambassador?
As a Student Ambassador, you will introduce any given platform (such as a learning hub, or a jobs platform) to your classmates and explain to them all the benefits of signing up.
In addition to spreading the word about the platform, you will also be the mouthpiece for your school’s journey in many other ways.
In most cases, becoming a Student Ambassador is a volunteered role. This makes it an incredible opportunity to stand out to employers – by showing your willingness to be a leader, not out of necessity, but out of choice.
Access the perks associated with Ambassadorship
Although a Student Ambassador will typically volunteer for the role, you will often find that lots of perks are associated with the position. For example, many organizations will give you:
- Exclusive social media posts to send out online
- Priority when finding out about job opportunities
- Responsibility to organize events
- Exclusive information, for you to share with peers
These are just a few examples… but how the organization chooses to reward you is up to them. Do some research, and find out about any associated perks, when you apply to become a Student Ambassador.
Some of these perks – such as exclusive social media posts – may seem less ‘obvious’ incentives to apply for the role. But in an age where your online presence is just as important as your in-person presence, becoming a Student Ambassador can give you the upper hand.
Become a Student Ambassador with Highered
Highered offers all students on our platform a unique opportunity to become an ambassador for your school – otherwise known as a ‘Student Ambassador’.
By being the Student Ambassador, you prove your willingness to ‘go the extra mile’, which will help you to stand out in job applications and interviews. You will also get access to the following perks:
- Exclusive social media posts on latest opportunities
- Organize local events
- Become the first point of contact
In a competitive job market where all students are competing for positions, being your school’s Student Ambassador shows that you are a cut above the rest.
One current Highered Student Ambassador, Mingyi Feng, said this about why she took on the role:
“It is a pity that many students are not aware of the great opportunities and resources on Highered. I want to accentuate it and promote Highered to students to help them get good jobs. That’s why I applied to become a student ambassador at Highered.”
