This August Highered supported Centrum PUCP, one of the leading business schools in Latin America, for the fourth time with their Private Career Event. However, this year they introduced a new dimension, a hybrid format offering a practical example for other Highered member schools exploring flexible and inclusive approaches to career engagement.Â
Adopting a Hybrid Format
Centrum PUCP made a strategic decision to adopt a hybrid career fair model, combining an on-campus career fair with a fully customized virtual event. While many students and employers were able to participate in person, not all companies could travel, and not all students were on campus or able to attend physically. Rather than exclude anyone, Centrum chose to expand access.

Extending Access and Opportunity
We ran a simultaneous virtual event from August 18–24, tailored to Centrum’s needs. It enabled:
- Remote employers to connect with students through branded booths, job postings, webinars, and chat
- Students off-campus or abroad to explore opportunities and engage directly with recruiters
- The Centrum team to access event analytics, tracking student activity and company engagement.
This setup demonstrated that a hybrid event doesn’t have to be resource-heavy to be effective. With thoughtful coordination, the virtual component offered significant value without overburdening the career services team. It also ensured inclusivity, giving equal access to students and companies regardless of geography. For schools considering a hybrid model, this approach offers a practical blueprint for balancing flexibility with impact.
The Outcome
- 35 companies participated virtually
- Over 350 job opportunities were promoted
- Hundreds of students actively explored roles, attended sessions, and connected with employers
This virtual component wasn’t an add-on, it was a fully integrated extension of the on-campus event, designed to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for all participants.
Partnering with Highered for our hybrid career event was an excellent experience. The platform supported a seamless integration of virtual and in-person engagement, allowing us to connect more students and employers than ever before.”

A Proven Partnership
Having partnered with Centrum PUCP over multiple events, we’ve developed a collaborative rhythm based on trust and alignment. Their team, led by Ivette, Lisbeth, and Rosemary, worked closely with us from planning through execution. Highered’s role focused on delivering a seamless digital experience that complemented the in-person fair, ensuring consistency, scalability, and student-employer impact across both formats.
Simple Insights, Strong Signal
Post-event, Centrum completed the standard survey, providing clear indicators of satisfaction, particularly in technical support, communication, and the ease of use for employer participation. Their scores reflect a positive experience across key areas, reinforcing our alignment and continued collaboration.
Centrum PUCP’s experience highlights a few takeaways for institutions evaluating hybrid formats:
- Align the hybrid format with clear objectives, don’t treat it as a backup plan
- Leverage the digital layer to expand reach and track engagement
- Involve employers early to shape a seamless experience across both channels
- These insights can help career services teams design events that are inclusive, data-informed, and aligned with institutional strategy.
Looking Ahead
Hybrid isn’t a temporary solution, it’s a smart, inclusive model for career engagement. Centrum PUCP continues to lead by example, and we’re proud to support their efforts to ensure every student, regardless of location, has access to opportunity.
To the Centrum PUCP team: thank you for your continued trust and collaboration. We look forward to building on this shared success in the future.
