Meet the Speakers

Alexa Bailey

Alexa Bailey joined Visa in 2017 as part of the global Executive Talent Acquisition team. In her role as International Executive Talent Acquisition Lead, she works closely with the leadership teams across Visa’s international markets and contributes to the development of executive search activities for the company.

Prior to joining Visa, Alexa was a headhunter and practice manager at Heidrick & Struggles – a tier 1 global Executive Search firm, where she managed the CEO & Board Practice. She also successfully established and launched the firm’s external female board network aimed at senior female leaders. She has been a prominent contributor to the diversity debate in the UK Visa Inc. Paddington and internationally and has led a number of initiatives for women in leadership and board roles.

Alexa has a strong track record in executive search and her experience spans the fintech, technology, consumer and industrial sectors with a focus on leadership appointments in Europe and in the US. Alexa graduated from Warwick University with a BA Hons in Art History & French studies.

 

Amber Wigmore Alvarez, PhD MBA

Considered one of the foremost references in Employability and the Future of Work on a global scale, Amber Wigmore Álvarez was recently appointed Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) of Highered EFMD Global Career Services.

Amber brings more than 8 years of experience from the world of global career services at top-ranked IE, where she was until most recently Executive Director of Talent & Careers, managing a team of more than 37 talent professionals who delivered services to 6,000 students and 65,000 alumni globally, increasing satisfaction on behalf of students, alumni and more than 4,000 corporate partners and organizations.

As a Doctor of Economics and Business Science, Amber’s research is focused on University Social Responsibility (USR) and business ethics. She holds an International MBA from IE, as well as a BA in Hispanic Studies and International Economics from Wheaton College (Norton, Massachusetts), where she received a largely feminist education, which has driven her on her mission to empower women in their careers.
