On October 16, the Highered China team traveled to Beijing to represent Highered for the Norway China Business Summit, where members of royalty were among the many attendees.
The Summit opened by an inspiring speech from King Harald of Norway, who emphasized the need for cooperation when sharing common interests and facing common challenges in international trade at these times.
“To address these challenges, we must further develop our international partnerships, while also safeguarding the multilateral trading system and the benefits it has brought us, ”said King Harald, who will continue his official state visit to China with Queen Sonja.
The Summit focuses on “Pioneering Sustainable Solutions” with related panel discussions and sessions focused on the topics of smart cities, green energy developments, health technology solutions, digital story-telling, and labor relations.
A record of 340 representatives from 150 Norwegian companies are visiting China, creating significant possibilities for new business relations between the two nations. On Tuesday alone, 24 new business agreements were signed. One of the resulting agreements included Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba and Kongsberg, a Norwegian high-technology enterprise, with intentions to further digitalize the energy sector.
The Highered China team will also be traveling to Shanghai on October 18th, where the Summit continues.
