On December 11, BI Norwegian Business School hosted an interactive live webinar session ‘Pitch Perfect’, presented by Dr. Amber Wigmore- Alvarez.
As part of a continued Highered Career Journey Master Class webinar series, ‘Pitch Perfect’ focused on developing one’s own personal branding, body language, and executive presence. Present in the live audience were eager-to-learn bachelor and master students, BI alumni, and career service professionals, with over 1300 participants watching virtually across the globe. Talent from 373 institutions registered, signing in from 47 different countries for an hour filled with career advice and insight guaranteed to support further career development. The topic of this webinar was well-received and timely, given the feedback from many students and professionals undergoing recruitment processes right now. A former BI student who attended the live session shared their impression of the content and its usefulness. “The webinar was truly inspiring and got me to think about how I can up my executive presence within my own workplace. I become aware of areas of improvement and even picked up a book recommended by the speaker. Also, I believe Dr. Amber Wigmore Alvarez had some well-thought out tricks for creating my own elevator pitch – which is something I have always struggled with. Considered one of the foremost references in Employability and the Future of Work on a global scale, Amber Wigmore Álvarez was recently appointed Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) of Highered EFMD Global Career Services. Amber brings more than 8 years of experience from the world of global career services at top-ranked IE, where she was until most recently Executive Director of Talent & Careers, managing a team of more than 37 talent professionals who delivered services to 6,000 students and 65,000 alumni globally, increasing satisfaction on behalf of students, alumni and more than 4,000 corporate partners and organizations. As a Doctor of Economics and Business Science, Amber’s research is focused on University Social Responsibility (USR) and business ethics. She holds an International MBA from IE, as well as a BA in Hispanic Studies and International Economics from Wheaton College (Norton, Massachusetts), where she received a largely feminist education, which has driven her on her mission to empower women in their careers.
